NYCRUNS Brooklyn Experience Half Marathon 2026
I’m supporting The 52nd Street Project.
Hello,
My name is Nish Mani and I'm running the NYCRuns Brooklyn Half Marathon on behalf of the 52nd Street Project, a non-profit organization that helps New York City children gain exposure to the performing arts, which in turn helps them unlock their creativity. My daughter was in her first ever theatre performance at school last year, and I witnessed first hand the benefits of teamwork, confidence building, and hard work. One of the key benefits to living in New York is the access to theatre and cultural arts, and I'd love to share that with more children. Running/fitness and watching dramatic theatre are two of my favorite activities, so this race will help me combine these two interests in a beautiful way. Please consider donating to the 52nd Street Project and help me reach my $1,000 fundraising goal.
52 Project Mission Statement:
The mission of The 52nd Street Project, a community-based arts organization, is to bring together kids from Hell’s Kitchen in Manhattan, starting at age nine and lasting through their teens, with theater professionals to create original theater offered free to the general public. By building on the core experience of accomplishment and collaboration, the Project fosters a sense of inclusion in a place where the children belong and where their creative work is the driving force. Through long-term mentoring relationships and exposure to diverse art forms (including Poetry, Photography, Theatrical Design, Dance, and Filmmaking), the Project seeks to expand the children’s means of expression and to improve their literacy, their life skills and their attitude towards learning.
