NYCRUNS Brooklyn Experience Half Marathon 2026
I’m supporting BROOKLYN.ORG.
After moving to Brooklyn following college in 2022, living in Bed-Stuy/Crown Heights and later Flatbush, I began to see Brooklyn not just as where I live, but as a community I feel responsible for uplifting. With my best friends being from Bed-Stuy and East New York, I was able to have an authentic BK experience. Being immersed in these neighborhoods exposed me to both their cultural richness and the systemic challenges residents face, which clarified the kind of impact I want to have, one rooted in equity, access, and community-led solutions. Brooklyn Org’s mission to mobilize people, resources, and local expertise to build a fair and just Brooklyn strongly aligns with my lived experience and values. I am choosing to run for Brooklyn Org because I believe meaningful, lasting change happens when communities are empowered from within, and I want to contribute my voice, perspective, and commitment to strengthening the neighborhoods that have shaped my Brooklyn journey.
