NYCRUNS Brooklyn Experience Half Marathon

Hi! I'm Adria, a medical student at SUNY Downstate, and this year I'm running the Brooklyn Half Marathon in April to raise money for the Anne Kastor Brooklyn Free Clinic (BFC). The BFC is Downstate's student-run clinic, providing free healthcare to adults without health insurance.
 

The BFC provides patients with everything from screenings and primary care to specialist referrals, mental health counseling, PT, and connections for essential resources like housing. Guided by volunteer physicians and faculty, students from medicine, nursing, health professions, and public health run the clinic together, addressing community health disparities as they grow into practicing healthcare professionals. It's been inspiring to see the impact this clinic has on the surrounding community and the students at Downstate.
 

The clinic runs on volunteers and donations, and any amount helps keep this work going. The BFC was a major reason I chose to attend Downstate, and I'm very excited to support its mission. Thank you for reading, and please consider donating!
