New Economy Project is a leading economic justice organization based in New York City. For 30 years, we have worked with community groups to wage bold campaigns and build a just economy that works for all. Our work benefits thousands of New Yorkers and their communities each year, while advancing long-term systemic change.
What We Do: We provide legal services and know-your-rights education to help New Yorkers defend their economic rights. We organize coalitions to advocate for and win major policy changes. We invest directly in New York's cooperative economy, through our community loan fund.
Our Impact: Through our campaigns, we are advancing community land trusts and permanently affordable housing, worker-owned businesses and living wage jobs, public banking and cooperative finance, and other community wealth-building initiatives.
