NYCRUNS Brooklyn Experience Half Marathon 2025
I’m supporting Korean K9 Rescue.
I will be running the Brooklyn Half in honor of my friend, Aly, who lost her older sister, Samantha, last October to cancer. I am raising money for Korean K9 Rescue, an animal rescue that Sam was extremely passionate about and involved with as the organization’s adoption coordinator. This fundraiser will directly support the rescue’s mission to help homeless and mistreated dogs in South Korea by placing them with loving, forever families. To date, KK9R has placed over 3,500 dogs in the tri-state area into adoptive homes with the help of Sam.
Aly and I met as roommates in freshman year at Ithaca College. Sam also went to Ithaca College—thanks to her, Aly chose Ithaca, and our paths crossed. Aly officiated my wedding last August and Sam was Aly’s designated proofreader, patiently listening to many versions of Aly’s speech. Sam touched my life in profound ways and I’m so grateful for her impact.
Please consider donating—every bit helps and will make a difference for the rescue pups Sam loved and the mission she believed in. While no donation is too small, I will make and send you a small art print if you donate $100 or more!
Thank you for your generosity and for helping me honor Sam in this meaningful way.
