NYCRUNS Brooklyn Experience Half Marathon 2025
I’m supporting Korean K9 Rescue.
I will be running the NYCRUNS Brooklyn Half Marathon on April 27, 2025, in honor of Samantha Jacoff, and on behalf of Korean K9 Rescue.
I first met Sam about 3-months after Aly, her sister, and I started dating. I met Sam in her parents backyard along with her beloved rescue dog, Laddy. As we first got to know each other I remember her discussing her work and passion around rescuing dogs through the organization she worked for Korean K9 (KK9).
About 3-months after that, Sam was diagnosed with stage 3b lung cancer. She fought everyday through numerous tests, procedures, and drug trials with their ups and downs, but on October 2, 2024 after not quite 2 years from diagnoses, Sam sadly passed away. Throughout her entire fight Sam never stopped working for KK9 as helping animals was her true passion.
In April, I will be running alongside Aly, her brother (Josh), father (Bobby), and many others who loved Sam and want to carry on her legacy.
