Hey Friends,

I’m thrilled to share that I’m fundraising for The 52nd Street Project, an extraordinary organization that I’m deeply proud to serve as the Director of Education. Every day, I witness the profound impact this work has on our young people and their families. It’s nothing short of life-changing.

The mission of The 52nd Street Project, a community-based arts organization, is to bring together kids from Hell’s Kitchen in Manhattan, starting at age nine and lasting through their teens, with theater professionals to create original theater offered free to the general public. By building on the core experience of accomplishment and collaboration, the Project fosters a sense of inclusion in a place where the children belong and where their creative work is the driving force. Through long-term mentoring relationships and exposure to diverse art forms (including Poetry, Photography, Theatrical Design, Dance, and Filmmaking), the Project seeks to expand the children’s means of expression and to improve their literacy, their life skills, and their attitude towards learning.

On a personal note, some of you know that I suffered an injury a few years ago, which sidelined me from running for quite some time. Since then, I’ve struggled to find the motivation to get back out there.... until now. Supporting this fundraiser has reignited that spark, because I can’t think of anything more inspiring than the kids I get to work with every day. Their humor, resilience, and joy remind me why this work is so important.

So, I’ve decided to dedicate every mile of my training to one of our amazing young people. They inspire me daily. Now, I’ll be running for them.

They rock. So I’ll run for them.
