NYCRUNS Brooklyn Experience Half Marathon 2026
I’m supporting Red Door Community.
I am running the Brooklyn Half Marathon for Red Door Community, a non-profit passionate about providing resources and community for families and patients alike who have been diagnosed with cancer. I am extremely proud to run for this organization after watching my best friend of 20 years lose her father to cancer. Growing up together, I had the honor of spending most of my childhood at their home. Her father was extremely humorous, he was passionate and devoted to every sport and team, he was adventurous and always made sure to include his kids and their friends in celebrations and sporting events. He was someone that everyone felt happy to be around, and I can honestly say even now, memories I have with my friend and her father include the times I have laughed the hardest in my life.
He passed away from colon cancer in 2019. My friend's father was such a bright light in the world. It is an absolute honor to raise money for Red Door Community, a team looking to work with patients and family members and friends as they navigate some of the hardest times of their lives. Nobody should lose their light because of a cancer diagnosis. Any donation you can make to support Red Door Community is extremely appreciated. Thank you so much, this one's for Ron!
