I love acting. And I love running. And now I can combine the two.

Hello! I’m Jessica Vesey - a second year at Stella Adler studio of acting

Over the last two years, Adler has formed me into the actor and person I am today.

During my first year of training, I was completely awakened to the idea that my body is literally my instrument, my product, my home, my temple, my life-long companion - at the end of the day, all I have. What a blessing to have a body that can move. A bold that can express and tell a story. I knew that the stronger my body was, the more expansive my acting could be.

Thus, I got into running and fitness. I fell in love with it. It felt similar to my acting work, where I had to fall in love with the process, trust that I could keep going through moments of difficulty, and know that each and every time I stepped onto the treadmill, (or into the studio) I was leaving stronger than before.

And finally, after hoping to do a half marathon for quite some time, the opportunity has finally come! And I couldn’t be more pleased to be doing it with nine other "Adlerites", all raising money for the studio's programs and mission-driven work to expand access to arts education!

Art brings color to life. It feeds our souls and brings light and love into a world that can feel scary and disconnected.
