NYCRUNS Brooklyn Experience Half Marathon 2026
I’m supporting Korean K9 Rescue.
In 2017 I met a Korean Jindo mix for the first time - completely by chance by walking dogs. His attitude was silly; a little shy at first but completely dramatic and ridiculous and full of love. Since him I've adored these rescue dogs - I still walk Taco, and now his brother Barney, to this day!
In 2021 I was lucky enough to welcome in Bandal, the first Jindo boy I could call my own. Then again in 2023 we welcomed in Tokki, a little guy from Korean K9 Rescue. With him came the amazing opportunity to work alongside the incredible people dedicating their lives to helping dogs find their forever, and one of these people was Sam.
Samantha gave her all when it came to the dogs - she placed hundreds of dogs into perfectly fit homes and really made sure it was THE perfect fit. Even on days where she should have focused on herself, she focused on the dogs.
As many of my friends and family know, I am the furthest thing from a runner. With this opportunity to run for KK9R in Sam's memory, I'll give my all for the cause - just as she did.
Join me in my training and half marathon journey as we honor Sam and raise money for the life changing efforts Korean K9 Rescue accomplishes both domestically and abroad.
