NYCRUNS Brooklyn Experience Half Marathon 2026
I’m supporting The Anne Kastor Brooklyn Free Clinic.
Hi everyone!
I'm excited to share I'll be running the Brooklyn Half Marathon on April 26th (my first running-anything event!) on behalf of the Brooklyn Free Clinic. The Brooklyn Free Clinic, located in Flatbush and operated by SUNY Downstate, is a volunteer run clinic that provides free healthcare services to uninsured adults. Their mission is to address and improve health disparities in underserved communities by offering primary care, preventative services, sexual health care, medication access, mental health support, and more at no cost.
Volunteering at the BFC in February has truly been one of the highlights of my nursing school journey. It gave me the opportunity to work directly with patients, develop my clinical skills, and give back to folks by helping meet their healthcare needs. I've always been extremely passionate about advocating for marginalized communities, and this clinic is a great example of what can happen when a community comes together to care for one another. I've had the privilege of working along some of the kindest and inspiring students and staff, and I'm grateful to support this mission through this race.
Although all services are provided to patients at no cost, the clinic relies on fundraising and community support to continue offering this care. My goal is to raise $1,000 by race day, and I would be truly grateful for any contribution to help make that possible. Every donation makes a meaningful difference! Thank you so much for cheering me on, see ya at the finish line! :)
