NYCRUNS Brooklyn Experience Half Marathon 2026
I’m supporting One Love Community Fridge.
I’m very excited to announce that I will be running the Brooklyn Experience Half Marathon on April 26, which starts in Williamsburg and will end in my own neighborhood at Grand Army Plaza! This will be my second-ever half-marathon (last one in 2018— so it’s been a minute) and it will be exceptionally meaningful to be running in support of One Love Community Fridge—a BK-based org working to distribute nutritious foods to neighborhoods throughout the city at their community fridges and building community through collective action and the belief that healthy food is a right, not a privilege.
One thing about me is that I love food— I love cooking food, I love growing food, I love thinking about food, I even love drawing food. Hungry girl over here. I got my start in illustration/design by drawing veggies for a cookbook while working on a farm. Over the last four years living in Brooklyn, I’ve worked in the food world both IRL and digitally and seen both the amazing creativity and diversity that coalesces around food in this city, as well as the many challenges folks face in accessing nourishing and delicious food—including many of them who are laboring tirelessly in the kitchens of restaurants that make the food in this city so inspired.
That being said, this org is doing amazing work— please consider donating to make a direct impact on helping OLCF keep this city fed, nourished, and running!
