Korean K9 Rescue

I’m supporting Korean K9 Rescue.

I will be running the NYCRUNS Brooklyn Half Marathon on April 26, 2026, in honor of Samantha Jacoff, and on behalf of Korean K9 Rescue.


 

I first met Sam about 3 months after Aly, her sister, and I started dating. I met her in her parents’ backyard along with her beloved rescue dog, Laddy. As we got to know each other, I remember her talking about her work and passion for helping rescue dogs find homes through Korean K9 (KK9).


 

About 3 months later, Sam was diagnosed with stage 3b lung cancer. She fought every day through countless tests, procedures, and drug trials, facing both highs and lows with incredible strength. On October 2, 2024, after nearly two years, Sam sadly passed away. Throughout her entire fight, she never stopped working for KK9, helping animals was truly her passion.


 

This year, I will be running alongside my fiancé Aly, whose strength throughout all of this continues to inspire me every day, along with many others who loved Sam and want to carry on her legacy.
