I am excited to share that I have been invited to run the Falling Leaves Half Marathon this October as a Cause Partner for Understood.Org. This is really special to me because I have worked in Special Education for a number of years and I built my career around one belief - that every learner and thinker deserves to feel seen, supported, and empowered to succeed. Understood shares this belief and thus, has been a resource to me and one that I’ve shared with families.
Since running my first half marathon in April, I honestly wasn’t sure I’d run another. But this race, during Learning Disabilities Awareness Month, is too meaningful to pass up. So…
- I’m running 13.1 miles to raise awareness because 1 in 5 kids in America has a learning difference.
- I’m running 13.1 miles to build community for those who feel like they’re navigating this alone.
- I’m running 13.1 miles to expand access for children and families to free and credible resources.
This will be my second ever half-marathon and I would love your support. Every donation fuels the goal, every training partner fuels the miles, and every funny race day sign fuels the finish line.
