Entry to the NYCRUNS Manhattan Ice Cream Social 5K & 10K includes a ferry ride, your race entry, a tech shirt, and post-race eats (the aforementioned ice cream!).

THE COURSE
A whirlwind tour of Governors Island with amazing views. The 10K is two loops of the course. All NYCRUNS courses are USATF certified.

HANDCYCLE/WHEELCHAIR ATHLETES
Due to the high number of turns in this course, we do not advise handcycle or wheelchair athlete participants register for this event. We’d suggest registering for the NYCRUNS Brooklyn Half Marathon or one of our 5K races in Prospect Park or Central Park.
AMENITIES
Bag Check - If you plan on checking a bag, you must use the single clear bag provided by NYCRUNS. You may not put another full bag/backpack/briefcase inside the clear bag. All items must fit inside the clear bag. NYCRUNS reserves the right to search your bag at any time.
Toilets - Portable restrooms will be available for use throughout the event.
Refreshments - Water will be available on the course for both races and electrolyte fluid will be available on the course for the 10K. Further hydration, ICE CREAM, and fresh fruit will be available to replenish you at the finish line.
Swag - The giveaway for this race will be a tech shirt. Shirts may be picked up on race day only. In order to cut down on waste, we try not to overorder and sizes are not guaranteed. If you have your heart set on a size, we recommend picking up your shirt before the race.
Photos - Free finish line photos will be available within a week of the race. You will receive an email from MarathonFoto several days after the race to claim your photos.
BIB DISTRIBUTION
If you register thirty days or more before the event using a domestic address, your bib will be mailed to you for no additional cost. Please make sure the shipping address provided at the time of registration will be valid in the month preceding the race.
If you register less than 30 days before race day, or you have an international address, and your bib doesn't arrive in the mail, you must pick up your bib on race day no more than an hour before your start time.
DIRECTIONS
The Governors Island Ferry from Manhattan is how you get to the race, and your ferry ride is included in your race registration. The 4, 5 to Bowling Green; the R to Whitehall St.; the J to Broad St.; or the 1 to South Ferry are the closest subway stops to the Ferry Terminal at Battery Maritime Building at 10 South Street.
Please arrive at the Ferry Terminal by 7:30AM.
Taking the Governors Island ferry from Manhattan is your best option for arriving on time. Other ferry services may be available but are not recommended.
Please check MTA Trip Planner for up-to-date and detailed mass transit directions and Google Maps for driving directions. Driving is not recommended due to the lack of parking near the ferry.
