NYCRUNS Brooklyn Experience Half Marathon 2026

I am fundraising for Sunrise Association because it has played an incredibly meaningful role in my life. During college, I volunteered for multiple summers as a head counselor at Sunrise Day Camp, a summer camp for children battling terminal illness and their siblings. I also volunteered with the Sunrise in-hospital program, where I spent time playing and drawing with campers as they received their treatments.

Sunrise has brought me some of the happiest moments of my life. Being with my campers, their laughter, creativity, and smiles, gave me constant joy. More importantly, they taught me what true strength and resilience look like. I was inspired every single day by the courage of these children and the unwavering love and determination of their families.

Those experiences had a profound impact on me and helped solidify my desire to pursue a career in healthcare. I am now in medical school and am strongly considering a future in pediatric oncology. Supporting Sunrise is my way of giving back to an organization that shaped who I am and continues to bring light, joy, and hope to children and families when they need it most.
