Our Mission: Sanctuary for Families is dedicated to the safety, healing and self-determination of victims of domestic violence and related forms of gender violence. Through comprehensive services for our clients and their children, and through outreach, education and advocacy, we strive to create a world in which freedom from gender violence is a basic human right.
Trauma-informed and Survivor-led: Our work is fundamentally guided by each client’s individual needs. We approach clients holistically, considering their cultural backgrounds and physical, emotional, economic, and spiritual needs. We recognize and nurture individual client strengths and treat clients with respect and compassion. We support each client’s effort toward achieving safety, economic self-sufficiency, and empowerment. Client needs and experiences inform Sanctuary’s programs, services, and education and advocacy efforts.
